Drop & Pop Assignments
Thursday, March 22, 2007
Did you like doing your drop and pop assignments at Hallmark?
You probably thought how boring, I'll never do this or I don't want to do this.
Think again, they can make you a substantail amount of money because they usually have good quantities.
I've been doing quite a bit of work for Direct TV and they are just drop and pops some small and some big where they flew me to NY & LA to shoot them.

You know Wayne, i have to agree. As boring as they may seem, it's probably one of the more important and useful assignments and definitely one of the most called upon when shooting product or still-life. My first gig out of school was basically shooting product on white for the company's website and catalog. And even now, while i'm shooting more enviromental studio shots, i do spend at least one day a week shooting silos or "drop and pops" on gray seamless. As easy as they may seem, It's important to know how to do them correctly and efficiently because it can really make or break a gig.
