Ryan McGinley is the new Larry Clark. Personally, I love his work, but many don't, probably for all the wrong reasons.
Ryan McGinley started taking photos of his hipster friends in the Lower East Side. Beautiful naked people doing coke, heroin and having sex. In 2002 Ryan became the youngest person to have a solo show at the Whitney Museum of Contemporary Art, New York, he was 24. The show was titled The Kids Are Alright. He became a houshold name within the art world overnight. He recently received the Young Photographer ICP Infinty Award.

Ryan has recently upped his game. He is getting funding in the hundreds-of-thousands to take groups of models and friends on road trips across the country, to do drugs and take pictures. Damn, I don't hate this kid, I envy him. He was also featured in the New York Time's Sunday Arts section last week.

His show at Team Gallery in New York blew my mind. (Instillation shot below)
Check out my Blog for a very interesting performance I shot last week in Coney Island.
