Flashes of Hope Update
Monday, October 22, 2007
Hey HIPsters,
I did another shoot for Flashes of Hope today.
Picture going into a doctors office and using a small patient room that was maybe 7'x7', putting up a full studio worth of stuff and photographing a bunch of kids fighting cancer.
Here's where the value of your Hallmark Education comes in handy. I basically did this whole thing on autopilot, the families will love them, it's all for a good cause, and it was lots of fun!
These are all straight out of the camera. Deleted a few test shots and blinks but for the most part this is the whole session.
It took a half hour to setup the set by myself while chatting with the people, shot from 10am to 11:30, packed up, processed the images with an 8x10 auto crop and B&W conversion, no other adjustments in PS.
Now if this wasn't a chary situation and I wasn't volunteering my services it would be good bank for a few hours of fun!
Don't discount anything you learn during your time at Hallmark!

They look wonderful Wayne! I just signed up to be a volunteer photographer. I have been thinking about who to volunteer my services to, so hopefully it works out!

Tamee,
Yes, I love to be able to give back in this way.
Susan,
Thanks, it was fun. Doing this kind of work is not a job it's a gift and I'm honored to do it.
God forbid, if this was the last time they were able to have their child photographed. - At October 23, 2007 7:21 AM, kbayne said...

Those B&W conversions are very nice! What software are you using for that? Lightroom preset? Does LR also have an autocrop too? Just guessing here, but I'd love to know.
