My First Shots

Back in 2002 when I started getting serious about my career as a photographer I recruited my first model from craigslist. Recruiting a good model was hard at that time as I had no portfolio to show and really didn't even know what I was doing with my camera. I met my model, Nyrene and her husband at a coffee shop, we talked a bit, I had her sign a model release, and went to the shoot location.
We had a lot of fun and we did several looks. I think it was one of her first photo shoots as well. I was shooting with my old Canon EOS film camera that I had bought several years before that. After getting the film developed and scanned I was pleasantly surprised as most of the shots were pretty darn good for a rookie and she loved them too.
That's when I realized this is what I want to do for the rest of my life and started to seriously persue my dream job.
Here are some screen captures from her website of some of the shots we got that day. Luckily that camera had the automatic settings on it for portrait and action because I had no idea what aperture and shutter speed to use.
