Family Portrait

Here's a shot I just finished up for a client.
They ordered a 16x20 canvas, but I like it better cropped as a square image.

Nice use of the architectural piece in the foreground to cammoflouge figure issues. Nice image and flattering to your subjects. One for my idea book.

Since no one ever posts critical feedback - I'll be the one to do it. It appears to me that there is a ring of lightness around the subjects, which looks a little unnatural. It almost looks like there has been too much done to the background, some kind of unnatural break between subject and their surrounding.
Aside from that, it appears you captured them well. - At January 9, 2008 2:37 PM, Jason McGrew Photography said...

I think that i would have to agree with Jack.. There is a halo effect gong on. Also, they are a great looking couple. I think that you could have placed her in front of him to be able to cover up that he is a little larger than her.
Other than that It looks great. The color is really nice. - At January 9, 2008 3:18 PM, Wayne Wallace said...

Thanks for the comments.
This is just one of the many shots I did that they chose. Most of the shots I post on my blog are client picks not necessarily my favorites.
They wanted me to do some creative work in Photoshop on the image.
It's all about personal taste really and if they like it.
Obviously, I liked the effects that I applied but I appreciate your feedback. - At January 9, 2008 5:14 PM, Jason McGrew Photography said...

Hey Wayne,
As a current student I'm curious. Can you post a copy of the original raw image? Thanks! - At January 11, 2008 10:51 AM, Wayne Wallace said...
