Vincent Laforet Inspired
Saturday, January 12, 2008
This is my first try of a shot inspired on Vincent Laforet's work. Pretty far from what he does, but a nice first attempt I think.
It's from the Major Indoor Soccer League team from Mexico, called La Raza. It's a very fastpaced sport and been trying a few techniques to get some sharp shots, but not been completely successful. If any body got some advice or experience shooting sports (indoor soccer/hockey), suggestions are welcome.
Happy New Year to everyone!!

Is that a tilt shift lens? Or is the blue done in Photoshop? The Canon Mark III works great for high ISO fast paced action shots.

it's a simulation of a tilt shift, done in photoshop. Using quickmask gradients and lens blur filter, also did some levels and curves. I wish I had a Mark III, gotta work with my 5D for now.

Hi Hector,
I noticed your email address is [email protected]. Having an "[email protected]" is probably the fastest way to send your email to your client's spam folder. I would suggest using your name instead. "[email protected]" is also a way to get sent into spam folders.
PS- I like your shot!! - At January 12, 2008 3:22 PM, Krisandra said...

Hector, I like it and it does have the feeling of some of LaForet's shots. With my Lensbabuy which I find hard to use, I've accidentally gotten this same effect - like your subjects are almost miniature. I'm just not sure how I did it! I pegged your image as being taken with a tilt-shift lens, but was wrong. Cool effect. Any chance you'll share the technique? :) Take care, Susan
