So here's a couple of my window light shots that I like a lot. The assignment apparently calls for a 2-stop difference, and my shots are definitely not 2stops. but if I have to re-shoot I will, but I still really like these pics.
Also here's my environmental, i think it came out well too!

It looks like your using more of a frontal window lighting as opposed to side window light which would give you the 2 stops diff.
Think about your window light casting across the subject instead of flat lighting them from the front.
Typically you would need a reflector as well to bring the shadows up where needed as well.
Most clients don't like a lot of shadow so you need to fill a little bit.

we had to use north light, and I made sure that was north lighting, and that's what I got. I'll keep trying tho!
