So, we had to build our websites, and we need feedback, so... I was wondering if I could get feedback from all of you. I need to know what you think about the design, usability, content, and overall impact. Can't wait to hear your feedback!

Hi Jessica,
Your website looks very nice. I like its clean and simple look. However I think that all of your galleries should be revised. For example, you've got a lot of strong commercial images which are mixed together with B+ photographs. The same thing happened with senior portraits. Remember that the key element is not the quantity but quality. When you have at least one image not that strong as other ones you make the strong ones fade. The key thing is to display only your best work on the website. Hope this will help! - At April 9, 2008 12:40 AM, Romo Photography said...

nicely done where did you get your gallery choice from. and I agree with Olga about your photographs.
You have some great work in there but don't mix it with the lower grade. Choose the strongest images over all. You are doing great by the way. Also on your last page for the contact place an image. I was kinda expecting an image on your last page. - At April 9, 2008 11:32 AM, Edith Rosa said...

Hello Jessica
I agree with my class mates. I think you should clean a a bit your senior gallery. Take the best of each one and you going to look more professional. In the child gallery I think you need to review couple of them. In Child sell a lot soft lighting more than hard light.
I really like your commercial work. Keep going and I wish you the best! - At April 9, 2008 10:05 PM, Wayne Wallace said...

Hi Jessica,
The new design is clean and simple, but I'm going to ask you a few questions which you need to consider when designing your website or marketing materials.
What is the purpose of you website?
Who is your target audience?
I highly recommend you check my marketing site at http://www.photographymarketingsecrets.com - At April 11, 2008 9:38 AM, Chris Rioux | Portrait Photography said...

Hi Jessica,
I agree with what has been said so far. At first, when I clicked on the Portrait link, and it only showed me that one couple image, I thought it was still under construction. Then I read Olga's comment about Seniors, and wondered what she was talking about. Then I realized I had to mouse over the link, wait, and then click on one of the selections. Because it's the only link on the site that does this, it makes it a little confusing and in-consistent, so I think you need to add the option of being able to click on the Portrait link, and then be able to choose which gallery to view.
In the Couple and Family Portrait gallery, you have one image of a mother and child with a white vignette. Unfortunately this look is a very dated one. I believe it's time period was in the mid 1980's to early 1990's.
Lastly, I would highly recommend having two separate websites. One for your commercial work, and one for your portrait and wedding work. Whenever I go online looking for a company/professional to do something for me, I look for the ones that specialize in what I'm looking for, not one that offers what I'm looking for as one of their many options/services. I've read several articles in Professional Photographer (PPA) magazine about photographers who have multiple businesses like this, but their wedding clients don't know about their commercial work, and their commercial clients don't know about their wedding work. It's crazy, but when you think about it, it makes sense and it works.
Hope this helps!
