Olympic Swimmer
Friday, July 18, 2008
Today I was assigned to get some photos of Imelda Martinez, a local athlete that will be taking part on Mexico's Women Swimming Team, on the upcoming Olympic games in Beijing. She will be competing on the 10km Marathon. She's not only a talented athlete, but she also just finished her Masters Degree and works in one of the most prestigious universities of Latin America. She trains swimming 16 kms a day, that's almost 10 miles! Good luck to her!

Nice - editorials are a nice way to get exposure to other areas of photography.
The Olympic swim trails where here in Omaha, Nebraska this year... I was asked to shoot the cover of a magazine but turned it down because I didn't feel like I had any experience with sports photography yet. In retrospect that was a bad idea - I passed up an opportunity to get some experience.
Here are some pictures other photographers got. - At July 19, 2008 7:11 AM, DragonHare said...

It's amazing how goggles can reflect some many wonderful colors in a pool.

I too love the last shot. It's so unexpectedly tranquil.
