Drown.
I am currently working on a personal photography project that I have named “Drown”.
This book explores the relationship between people & water .
Throughout my photographic career I have always been shooting near water.
I am trying to portray the relationship between people and water and how many different
emotions can be expressed through water. Water could remind one person of sorrow
and to another happiness and love. I am slowly piecing together a book from all of my
shots with water throughout the years. Currently I am working with models and friends
shooting in studio drown sessions. These studio shots are very raw and real.
Most of these people are not professional models and have little to no modeling experience.
Almost every model has had some sort of emotional interaction or encounter with water.
Every person who models Drown I have some sort of personal connection with.
If I didn’t have it before the shoot it is instilled afterwards.
I will be taking this project all over the world and photograph different cultures
and their interaction with water. Also how it plays a roll in their everyday lives.
The goal of these photographs is too publish a book called Drown with all the best
photographs over a 5 year time span. This booked is named Drown after a photograph
I shot in 2007 during the New Hampshire flooding. This photograph won first place
editorial - environmental in the 2008 International Photography Awards and
has been on display in numerous art shows in the NH/MA area. I will also be taking these
photographs to galleries. If you are interested in modeling for me or have a water
location in mind please contact me.
